We just released the very best version of WP Recipe Maker up until today: version 9.7.0. Read on for the highlights and a full changelog or update right away!

Recipe Block for Divi

It was already possible to add recipes to Divi using the recipe shortcode, copied from the WP Recipe Maker > Manage page. But now the plugin also has an integrated Divi Module. Just search for the “WPRM Recipe” module to add it to your post content in Divi:

Once you’ve added the module, you will see the ID of the latest recipes that were created through the WP Recipe Maker > Manage page. Enter the ID of the recipe you want to display to get a preview of it.

This first version of the module focused on getting the integration working and making it easy to insert existing recipes. We’ll be adding more options to the module soon, once we’ve verified that things are working as expected!

Using Recipe Shortcodes in the Loop

All of the recipe parts can be displayed on your website using the different Recipe Shortcodes. We now made those shortcodes compatible with the WordPress Loop. This means that if you’re using the shortcode without an id="" parameter (so without setting it to display a specific recipe), it will automatically pick up on the current item in the loop and check for any recipes inside.

Use this to display the rating of a recipe inside the post on archive pages or in grids. It’s compatible with the Block Editor Query Loop block (although the preview will not work as expected at the moment!) and also the Elementor Pro Loop and Grid.

Not sure what shortcode to use? Have a look at the Shortcode Generator on the WP Recipe Maker > Template Editor page. It gives you an easy UI for generating the shortcode you need, with all the available options.

Allow Users to Share their own Collections

We already had the Saved Recipe Collections feature, allowing site owners to create collections in the backend and then sharing those collections on the website by adding the block/shortcode to a regular post or page.

This new update now introduces an option for your site users to share their own collections as well. When using the collections feature, they can create as many collections as they want, and any of those can be shared with the click of a button.

Once a specific collection is shared, you can copy the share link and give that to anyone you want to be able to view (not edit) your collection.

Sharing can be stopped at any time, with just another click. Here is an example of the “My Favorites” collection I shared in the screenshot above.

To get started, enable “Allow Collection Sharing” on the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Recipe Collections page. Take note that only the collections of logged in users can be shared at the moment. Guests will not see the share option for any collections they might have.

This feature is only available in the WP Recipe Maker Elite Bundle.
