Template Editor AI Assistant
Customizing your recipe card templates can be powerful, but it is not always easy to know which block, shortcode, or styling option to change.
With the new Template Editor AI Assistant, you can describe the template change you want and let WP Recipe Maker suggest an update for the current template. Think of things like adjusting a button style, moving details around, or getting a better starting point for a layout change.
The AI Assistant will generate a proposed result for you to review before using it, so you stay in control of what actually changes. You can also use the toggle to see a before and after and figure out exactly how things were edited.
The AI tries to achieve the result using the available shortcodes, so everything stays completely editable through the Template Editor UI, just like it was before.
Like the other AI Assistant features, this is still in beta and only available to subscribers of our Elite Bundle, while we keep learning what is most useful for food bloggers.
Optional Ingredient Connectors
WP Recipe Maker 10.7.0 adds optional ingredient unit connectors for the recipe edit modal.
This is useful when an ingredient line needs an extra word or character between the unit and ingredient name. For example, instead of forcing everything into a plain “amount + unit + ingredient” format, you can now handle cases like “1 can of tomatoes” more naturally, while making sure features like adjustable servings, unit conversion and shopping list generation work as expected.
The connector is configured for the ingredient unit, so it can be reused across recipes using that same unit. There is also an Auto mode that enables the control for site languages that commonly use ingredient connectors, while still letting you show or hide it yourself.
Together with the spacing options, this should make ingredient lists feel more natural across different languages and formatting conventions.
Performance Improvements
This release also includes a lot of work that happens quietly in the background, but should make WP Recipe Maker feel faster and lighter.
Assets are now split up more efficiently, so pages only need to load more of the plugin when those features are actually used. Recipe metadata is cached to improve page speed, and several frontend interactions were optimized as well.
On top of that, we improved performance for the Manage page when showing many rows, adjustable servings, the Cook Mode Modal, and PDF generation. Not every site will notice every change in the same way, but the goal is simple: less unnecessary work, faster pages, and a smoother editing experience.
Easier Roundup List Workflows
Roundup lists are easier to build and maintain in this update.
You can now add all items from another roundup list into the list you are editing. That makes it much faster to reuse an existing list as a starting point, create seasonal variations, or combine related lists without manually adding every item again.
We also made it possible to edit recipes while editing a roundup list. If you spot something that needs changing while putting a roundup together, you can open the recipe directly instead of leaving the list, finding the recipe elsewhere, making the edit, and then coming back.
Small workflow improvements like these should make roundup posts less repetitive to create, especially for sites that publish a lot of list-style content.
